Veterinary History and Experience:

Dr. Dale Borders, D.V.M. graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974 and then practiced small animal medicine in his home town of Pontiac, Michigan until 1978.

In 1978 Dr. Borders and his wife Janet moved to Battle Creek, Michigan and purchased Log Cabin Animal Hospital. On her graduation from MSU in 1979 Janet Daniels Borders, D.V.M. joined Dr. Borders in their practice. From 1978 until 2005 the practice grew substantially resulting in the purchase of a second veterinary facility in Calhoun County, in 1984, The Marshall Veterinary Hospital. When both practices continued to grow, it was time to build a new Log Cabin Animal Hospital four times the size of their original office. Dr. Borders and Dr. Daniels Borders sold their interest in Marshall Veterinary Hospital in 1994 so that Dr. Borders could concentrate on furthering his education. In 2005 after completing his Ph.D. the Dr.'s Borders sold Log Cabin Animal Hospital and Dr. Janet Daniels Borders retired. Dr. Dale Borders began teaching at the collegiate level in 2005 and continues to teach full-time during the school year. During the summer months since 2005 Dr. Borders has been working part-time as a small animal veterinarian in Hickory Corners, Michigan. In January 2011 Dr. Borders started his house call veterinary practice when he recognized the need for such a service in this area. No matter where he practices Dr. Borders takes the practice of veterinary medicine very seriously.
